Active Heroes is proud to welcome Mr. Mike Griffith to our Board of Directors! Mike holds Associates and Bachelors Degrees in Business from the University of Cincinnati and Wilmington College. He served on active duty and as a Reservist in the U.S. Air Force. He has held a variety of positions in his 25 years working for Johnson & Johnson, currently working as the Director of Programs & Integration Systems. He has an extensive background in senior management, regulated pharmaceutical distribution, and medical device manufacturing. He has also been active an active member of the Active Heroes Retreat community area, supporting the local business and educational organizations. Before joining the Active Heroes team, Mike was a Board of Directors member for United Way.
Mike was first introduced to Active Heroes at the annual Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce Meeting in October 2014, and after learning more about the Active Heroes mission from President Troy Yocum, Mike decided “this is where i want to be, and these are the people I want to focus on helping.”
Mr. Yocum is very enthusiastic about the newest addition to our Board. “Mike Griffith is a great addition to the Active Heroes board of directors. As a Vietnam veteran, Mike has seen many military families struggle to reintegrate after war and has a deep passion for supporting them. His drive to help is inspiring.”
Active Heroes’ mission is to strengthen active duty military, veterans and their families in order to provide the coping skills to manage the stress and the triggering points that lead to suicide.
Active Heroes is dedicated to connecting and helping America’s military families through physical and mental therapy, home repairs and community outreach, financial assistance and community reintegration to halt the triggering points and stress associated with “hard times” that lead to suicide.
