In an effort to bring veterans in his area together, Andrew Goldsworthy, Army veteran, joined Active Heroes through the Carry The Fallen program.
“Planning has affected me by bringing me closer to local veterans of all ages,” said Goldsworthy.
In seeing a need for a program in his area aimed at helping veterans, active duty and their families, and filling it, Goldsworthy said he has had the opportunity to not just help others make connections through this program, but really help them as well.
“It should help people out by bringing them closer and meeting people that potentially have the same problems as they do, or has gone through what they’re going through,” said Goldsworthy.
As many Carry The Fallen Team Leaders have pointed out, getting together for these events, walking several hours in a group, can help participants open up, giving them the opportunity to help one another.
“It should also open them up to people that are willing to help,” said Goldsworthy.
Goldsworthy’s first event will be held at Klang Memorial Park in Duluth, Minnesota.
