The first cabin, which was built in honor of Major Justin Fitch, is now complete and will be furnished soon. Major Fitch was almost a suicide statistic. He sought help, and found it at the Active Heroes’ Retreat Center.
Shortly after retiring and finding Active Heroes, Major Fitch was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer. Major Fitch fought every day until his passing on October 4, 2015.
Major Fitch’s Final Mission was to help Active Heroes build the Military Family Retreat Center for veterans and military families. The Retreat Center is 100 percent free to veterans of all eras, all current service members, active, reserve, guard and all military family. The Retreat will officially open after “Phase 1” is complete.
