Veterans and military families are invited to attend an open forum at the Active Heroes’ Military Family Community Center on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.
The Active Heroes staff is hosting this event in an effort to get a response from the military community regarding what programs and classes would most benefit veterans and their families at the Active Heroes’ Community Center.
“We are hoping servicemembers and their families will provide us with feedback of our current programs, or offer suggestions for future ones,” said Courtney Sheridan, Community Center Program Coordinator. “At the Community Center, we strive to serve the entire military family based on their needs, so who better than the families themselves to tell us what they need.”
The Community Center first opened its doors in March 2015. Since that time, a vast majority of the programs available at the Community Center have been established based on the request of regular visitors. There has been noticeable improvement in the opportunities to get involved with Active Heroes at the Community Center over the past year, and the staff plans to continue that growth.
“We have enhanced our calendar lately by increasing the number of programs, special events, classes, and seminars, but we are still seeing a need for more, says Community Center Manager, Amelia Woodrum. “More of what though, is what we’re hoping to learn through this open forum.”
The open forum will be held in the common room of the Community Center at 6:30 p.m. on June 30, 2016. Refreshments will be available.
