On September 26th, 2016, 502 Fit Pass, of Louisville, KY held a fundraiser workout forActive Heroes at Louisville’s famous Fourth Street Live.
502 Fit Pass is a gym membership that allows its members to chose from over 50 member gyms in Louisville to attend. Not only does this give it’s members a wide range of workout options and facilities, but it has also brought gyms together in the local area.
Located in the heart of downtown Louisville, Fourth Street Live made for the perfect venue to raise awareness through this workout.
“There was a man leisurely walking around downtown after work and he read the Active Heroes mission on my shirt at our booth and immediately handed me $50,” said Jeremy Sneed, an employee of Active Heroes. “He said he appreciated so much that our organization was working to raise awareness of such a serious issue.”
Attendance for the event was donation based, some walk-up attendees got a chance to workout with the gyms that attended.
Cynthia Williams, owner of 502 Fit Pass, was able to get together Four Barrel CrossFit, Made Fitness, and BareFit to put on 3 different workouts making for one incredible and challenging boot camp.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better cause, veteran suicide reduction is a movement that everyone is eager to get behind,” said Williams, “Having this workout at Fourth Street Live was not only fun for participants, but really helped in getting the word out to people in a busy area that might not have gotten the chance to know about Active Heroes otherwise.”
With about 20 attendees the 502 Fit Pass Fitness Fest was able to raise around $200 For Active Heroes through it’s first ever Fourth Street Live boot camp.
