Active Heroes Announces Partnership with Frontier Communications
Work Together to Assist Veterans from across the Country
Louisville, KY – Active Heroes, a 501c3 organization with a vision to end veteran suicide with healing activities and peer mentoring, today announced a national partnership with Frontier Communications (NASDAQ: FTR).
Frontier Communications will assist Active Heroes with activities to help veterans across the country, including ruck marches, 5k walks, gym workouts, weight lifting competitions and social events for military families. Employees at Frontier can also get involved with Active Heroes’ Peer Mentor program and become a certified suicide prevention first response Peer Mentor.
“We are thrilled to partner with Frontier Communications,” said Troy Yocum, President of Active Heroes. “We are looking forward to pairing the Frontier’s employees with our national activities to support thousands of veterans. These volunteers will help veterans transition and find community engagement.”
Frontier Communication and Active Heroes have already partnered to help send hundreds of veterans to “The Brad Paisley Country Nation College Tour presented by Frontier Communications,” that took place at the U.S. Air Force Academy last month.
“Frontier is proud to partner with Active Heroes to help the men and women who serve our country,” said Gregg Barratt, AVP of Veteran’s Affairs for Frontier. “At Frontier, nearly 1 in every 10 employees is a veteran and we are a proud supporter of our nation’s military. Our partnership with Active Heroes is another example of Frontier’s commitment to those who serve our country.”
Frontier Communications was introduced to Active Heroes through a Gold Star mother named Cathy Bordeaux, who lost her son Phillip Bordeaux during a deployment with the U.S. Navy. Cathy serves on the staff at Active Heroes and has been coordinating a national activity called the Stand At Attention Competition for 6 years. The event challenges veterans to stand for up to 12 hours at attention to raise awareness and funds for Active Heroes.
