What Season is it? Zumbathon Season
Active Heroes has many events across our great nation that work to support veterans and their families as they grow and fight PTSD. Carry the Fallen Ruck Marches happen year round, plenty of Aiming for Zero events are upcoming, a big Workout of the Day (spring edition) is right around the corner, and Zumbathon season is in full swing! Do you like to dance? Do you like peppy, upbeat music? Do you like supporting veterans and their families? Well then consider joining a Zumbathon for Active Heroes! This is a great event that builds your fitness level, inspires others, and most importantly…is a ton of fun!
This weekend there was a fantastic Zumbathon supporting Active Heroes in Memphis, Tennessee. Local media covered the event, people danced, and veterans had great words to say about how excited everyone was to participate. Local veteran Chris Wisinki-“We veterans like to think we’re strong, but what we do know is there are times when the world comes crashing down. Active Heroes helps in those moments.” Like every Active Heroes event, it works to build awareness and support for veterans struggling with PTSD and fighting thoughts of suicide. These events also include fundraising to support great programs across the country and continue building our forever retreat of 147 acres where military families can find peace, healing, and growth. The retreat center is free for military families to stay at, and they always enjoy their time exploring our developing land.
If you want to host your own Zumbathon, let us know! We’ve got an exciting Zumbathon coming up in May at our home base of Louisville, Kentucky. Zumba instructors are flying in from across the country to lead an awesome day! If you’re nearby, we’d love to have you join in the fun!
