Active Heroes provides horseback riding at our Retreat Center in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Horseback riding is a therapeutic way to get involved with nature and it’s relaxing qualities. Horseback riding is known to reduce symptoms of anxiety, PTSD, and depression.
This experience is provided through our amazing horse owner and trainer Danielle Dugan. Danielle has owned horses since she was 15 years old. Danielle got involved with Active Heroes from a staff member and she fell in love with our mission. Danielle’s father is a veteran and she is a military relocation specialist in her real estate career. She highly respects veterans and active duty members. Danielle states that her experience with Active Heroes shines through specifically in giving horseback rides to the children of the military families. ” There is nothing better than seeing the excitement for children to get to know horses and ride them. It is an experience that will be burned in their memory for their entire life. I love to make that a good experience and to possibly ignite the idea of horse ownership,” Danielle states.
To schedule a horse back ride at the Active Heroes Retreat Center you must wear loose fitting clothing and have either boots or closed toe shoes on.
