In Honor of Emmie The Super Dog
All Dogs go to Heaven- Some walk there

Emmie the Super Dog walked across America with Iraq Veteran Troy Yocum during the 7800 mile trek becoming the first Shiba Inu to do so. The original website was called DrumHike.com and followed their journey. Because of Emmie’s efforts, the story gained a lot of support from sponsors and eventually became the Hike For Heroes reaching national status. The walk across America took 17 months and helped raised enough money to start the charity Active Heroes.
Emmie endured many miles on four tiny paws because she loved to walk and loved to help people. She spent her last years greeting veterans that visited the Active Heroes Retreat Center and Community Center. She loved running around the dog park at the retreat and hitting the hiking trails. Unfortunately Emmie was diagnosed with terminal cancer and has fought to the very end.
After many years of service to veterans she is walking through the gates of heaven and will be buried near the hiking trail and dog park; the places she loved most at the retreat. She will be very missed.
Donations can be made in her honor to keep supporting the retreat center by clicking the donate button. There might never be another dog like her!
