ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

The Active Heroes Retreat Center is the first retreat in America designed by military families to help military families heal! The retreat center is located in Shepherdsville, KY and open to military families free of charge. Visitors can schedule a day to visit the grounds during hours of staffing, schedule a cabin vacation or sign up for selected camping dates with cookouts.

    Pioneer Action Shooters will be hosting our sixth annual USPSA Aiming for Zero Fall benefit match at Pioneer Sportsmen. Aiming for Zero is a nonprofit which donates proceeds from shooting competitions to help prevent veteran suicide and assist military families. We also strive to build a sense of community and awareness.

    Pre-register online and select your day and squad. There are two events in Practiscore for this event, one for USPSA handgun and the other for USPSA multi-gun. THIS IS THE EVENT FOR USPSA MULTI-GUN (2-Gun) ONLY. It will consist of Handgun and PCC. There will be no Shotgun or Rifle, only hand gun and PCC. Squads will be dedicated to one discipline or the other, with multi-gun OR handgun.

    Both disciplines are run every day. You can choose to shoot one discipline one day, another the next. OR you can shoot multiple days in different divisions.

    There will be 8 stages displaying unique designs, obstacles, and props. This is the event we save our best ideas for! If we fill up registration more stages will be created to accommodate more competitors.

    Shooters Safety Briefing is at 8:00 and the match begins right after the meeting is done.

    Match Fee: $80, all proceeds to Aiming for Zero.

    There will be a raffle with really great items up for grabs. We welcome your participation in this raffle and encourage you to patronize the companies who are supporting our veterans and military families and sponsored this match.

    We expect to have catering on site Friday through Sunday. More detail will be provided when available.

    Set-up volunteers and staff are needed. This is a level 1 USPSA match. We will gladly accept any/all help.

    LAST DAY TO WITHDRAWAL WITH REFUND IS 09/05/21. **This year our credit card processor now keeps the fee, so we will refund minus the amount of the credit card fee.

    Setup: Wednesday, Sept 21st and Thursday the 23rd at 8:00 am

    Staff shoot: Friday, Friday, the 24th at 9:00 am. Shooters are welcome on Friday.

    Buxton Hollis Rod and Gun Club and United Construction and Forestry and Maineiac Action Pistol are hosting a one-day IDPA Action Pistol match, participants will be able to choose to shoot the match either Saturday or Sunday at Buxton Hollis Rod and Gun Club in Hollis, Maine. The goal of this event is to draw attention to and raise funds for, the prevention of veteran suicide.

    Aiming for Zero events are organized by the Active Heroes Foundation whose mission is to reduce veteran suicide and assist military families. All proceeds from this event will go directly towards much-needed veteran services.

    When choosing your squad, squad numbers that start with 10 are on day one Sept 24th, and squad numbers that start with 20 are on day two Sept 25th.

Active Heroes mission is to provide therapeutic programs and activities that promote camaraderie and help Active-Duty Military, Veterans and their families flourish in life outside of uniform.
